Scuba diving- explore the world under water

Scuba diving is a great way to explore the world under water while simultaneously getting exercise.
Scuba is the abbreviation for self-contained underwater breathing apparatus. Scuba diving equipment enables divers to stay under water for long periods of time while utilising oxygen from a special tank specifically designed to help the diver to breathe under water. This enables divers to experience life under water without having to return to the surface after a short period of time.
Recreational scuba diving enthusiasts often visit scenic diving spots like the coast of Mozambique or the Great Barrier Reef in Australia to make the most of the beautiful scenery under water. However, commercial scuba divers are also used to retrieve items lost under water or to search for a body that disappeared.
But what do you need for a scuba diving experience besides enthusiasm? A basic set of scuba diving gear consists of a mask and snorkel, a wetsuit, fins, weights, an air tank, a buoyancy control device (BCD), and a regulator.
Don’t be alarmed by the cost of the scuba diving supplies. While it can be an expensive sport, scuba diving equipment can easily be hired from a diving shop. Ask your Scuba Diving Instructor to recommend a scuba diving shop and the equipment most suited to your needs.
How safe is scuba diving? Like all other adventure sports, there are some risks involved. It is important to note that if the diver is responsible and adhere to the recommendations on the diving checklist, the risk decrease substantially. Make sure that you are comfortable and dive with someone that you trust. You should also ensure that you are aware of all the underwater signs that can be very helpful in case you do encounter a problem under water.
