You'll find Koh Tao is a great place for training as an instructor.  The island does the
majority of all diver certifications completed in Thailand  giving you ample opportunity for work amongst the 30 dive centres on Koh Tao.  It's a great place to learn and develop experience as a dive instructor and soak up the Koh Tao atmosphere.  Check out www.buddhaview-diving.com  under GoPro for
more information about Koh Tao and the IDCs.
Our IDCs, and especially our MSDT (check out more on www.buddhaview-diving.com ,
www.dive-careers.com  or www.kohtaoidc.com ) courses, are aimed at getting you one of these jobs.

IDCs begin every month.  Arriving a bit before the IDC you  are more than welcome to get in loads of diving, assist on courses, sit through DM lectures and skill circuits, free of charge.  Spending a bit of time with preparation makes the IDC easier and
more fun for all of us. Check out www.buddhaview-diving.comunder Go-Pro,
Schedule.
The instructor course takes you through teaching techniques, standards and marketing of PADI courses.  We conduct the IDC over 10 days.  The schedule is relaxed with days beginning around 9.00am and ending around five or six. This is important to give you time to prepare your presentations in the evenings and to make the programme enjoyable.  Great buffet lunches are also included during the IDC.  The IDC costs 34 000bht.   To make the IDC even more relaxed and ensure thorough preparation for the Instructor exam we conduct an IDC prep course for three days before the IDC. This is a chance to review DM theory and skills, and to actually give your first academic and confined water presentations.  Completing the prep course
allows the IDC to become much more than just preparing you for the exam.
Overviewing the presentations you need to give before the IDC even begins
will allow you to soak up much more about real world teaching during the
IDC presentations.  It is also the basis of our instructor exam guarantee.

You can even begin today with reviewing the theory using our unique on-line learning.  With a deposit on-line you gain access to the on-line learning to review standards and dive theory.  Really useful in preparing for the IDC.  Check out www.dive-careers.com for more info.
Completing the Silver package, Prep, AI/IDC, and Emergency First Response
Instructor, for 44000bht will guarantee your instructor exam.  The MSDT
package, including Enriched Air Instructor, four other specialty instructor ratings, real life experience with a number of certifications and help putting together a CV is an additional 21600bht.  We feel confident about the preparation you receive with the prep and IDC that if you were to have problems with your exam we would pay for your second IE and offer you a free second IDC.
Rather than get stuck in a classroom all day we make your training practical.  Most days you are out in the water as well, plus we run workshops such as conducting a bubblemakers with real kids from the local school, a chance for you to put your skills to practice getting the local kids into diving.  A great day for the kids and loads of fun for us.  I also conduct an optional instructor specialty< Marine Resource Management, during
the IDC free of charge.  It's knowledge that I think is really important for
the diving professional, information about reef ecology and how you can help
educate and promote reef protection.

Don't forget also that there are fees payable directly to PADI for
applications and exam.  It's around 20000bht, depending on what you do.  On
www.buddhaview-diving.com under paperwork you can find all of the forms to
download and fill in and the fees listed.  You'll also need some materials. The IDC is your chance to get to see all the different materials available through PADI, to find what suits your teaching style.  In our great, new IDC facility, (check out about it on www.buddhaview-diving.com  or www.kohtaoidc.com , are clearly the best facilities in Thailand) there is a library of materials for you to use.
Materials that you should have your own are an Instructor manual 10000bht, candidate workbook 2500bht, Wheel 2150bht and Table 800bht.  An instructor pack with manual, workbook and all slates and exams required for IDC is 19000bht.  Retail is normally wqd33000bht.
Accommodation is available on the island to suit your budget and needs. Monthly accommodation is as cheap as 2500baht per month. On the beach monthly accommodation is from 5000-6000bht
per month for a bungalow.  Back around 300meters from the shop, but inland,
across from he IDC facility, are the 2500-4500bht bungalows.  I have apartments in town.  These start at 3500bht per month.  Staying here for a while you could consider renting out a motorbike to have freedom to move around.  A bike is 2500-3000bht per month.
On
www.dive-careers.com there are fully inclusive packages of fees, accommodation and loads of added extras.
